The Blustery Sunday

I wasn't very excited about running outside yesterday but knew I had to just get my hiney out there and get to it.  It seemed like a different storm system was moving through bringing small showers and rain every hour or so, but since I totally wussed out yesterday, I put on my big girl panties and rain gear and headed out. I had a ten mile run planned, but only did 9.  The wind was terrible. I was hot in my rain gear, and of course I never got rained on, but at least the wind wasn't quite as bad as it had been Saturday.

I did stop to take a picture of the wildflowers.  I have always called these shooting stars not sure if that is the official name for them or not, but they are one of my favorites. It seems more spring like seeing these around on the hillsides even if it doesn't feel like spring.

Definitely not a sunny day out, after the three glorious days last weekend, this past week was a disappointing return to winter :(  I want to wear my running skirts and shorts.  My pale white legs want to bask in the glow of the sun. This has been the longest winter EVER!

 

The other reason, besides the wind that I cut my run a little short, the horses were out running around the hay field.  After I helped get the horses in my momentum was gone so I called it a day.  My running buddy Cola couldn't go with me today.  Boo. I made him stay home wince he seemed to be favoring his front left leg.  

  

On a bright note  only 5 more days until the Women's Run and the weather is looking like it may cooperate!  So excited.  I think I have my clothes picked out.  I am going to take my new Lululemon skirt for a test run today and if I love it, I will wear it Saturday.  Fingers crossed!  It is so cute.  I will post pictures of it soon.
