I of course had an appointment at 10 today, so I had to call my little sister to see if I made the team or not and the very first thing she says to me is "Alternate"? What? I made it, but I didn"t. I am cool, but not quite cool enough.
So I am excited and happy to be an alternate, but not nearly as ecstatic as I would be if I had made the team. I don't really want to wish for someone else to not be able to do it, but now I am a little. Sorry guys :)
Congrats to all who did make the team! I saw so many AWESOME entries I am happy have even made alternate.
Oh yeah, if haven"t already, check out my Running Chicks tank giveaway!
I still think you are pretty cool! :) Congrats, it is still an achievement to make it as an alternate--I'm sure they had tons and tons of applications!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are a bit disappointed, but that's still cool you made it as an alternate!! Who knows what will happen. :)
ReplyDeleteU wish you were on the list rather than one or two others.....but at least you're an alternate!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! You never know what can happen and it's still awesome that you were selected as an alternate.
ReplyDeleteSeems like it would be easier to deal with if you were either told that you made the team, or didn't make the team. Being an alternate is not a fun area to be in. I remember being an alternate on some relay teams in track in high school, and it was always stressful wondering if you were going to run or not.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that you can't just start your own Hood to Coast team, seems like there are a lot of bloggers out there who seem interested in doing the relay.
My sister in Alternate-ness! Let us Unite in our Almost Awesome Enough-ness! (For real, thanks for your comment on my lament... Maybe... MAYBE we'll meet on the Left Coast)...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You never know what will happen! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting picked as an alternate!! Still awesome :D
ReplyDeleteWell I cannot believe they did not pick you with this rap!
ReplyDeletecome one!
want me to start a petition?
you never know....maybe someone will chicken out or they forgot to tell their husband and he will throw the tamper tantrum of his life...
Your rap was totally awesome! I am super surprised that you got alternate status... super surprised. Like... what is up with those picker guys...
ReplyDeleteYou are ultra cool... and I hope that I do get to meet you one day. And in any event, I found your blog through the process :) Yay for that!
You are still a winner in my book and I hope you get called up!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making alternate. Think of the people that didn't make anything. You are awesome! You never know what will happen!
ReplyDeleteYou're cool in my book :) Everything happens for a reason.
ReplyDeleteStill very cool in my book... Congrats
ReplyDeleteYeah I really hope you make it on the team! I was def hoping you'd be on there.
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally have a question. Sometime you should write about your strength training (if you do it?). Bc your arms look freaking amazing!
i know how much you wanted to be on the team but you ARE still an alternate and us runners are notorious at getting injures so you may still get the call! (not that i'm wishing an injury on any other poor blogger!) but know that we all STILL absolutely adore and love you.
ReplyDeleteHey at least you made the cut!! Hopefully you will get to go, or at least get some sweet gear our of it :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that :(
ReplyDeleteI loved your rap- it was so creative.
But hey- it's still good to be an alternate. You never know what will happen. Regardless of your Nuun htc status, I am still a loyal follower :)
I have ran A LOT of relay races and chances are high that they will need you. It seems like there are always last minute injuries.
ReplyDeleteI am crossing my fingers (am I bad?) that you get to run.
This is still a great achievement! Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Being an alternate is still pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteHey, being an alternate is still pretty cool! Maybe you'll wind up getting on in the end anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there suffering with you in alternate land :-) But I am glad to have discovered your blog along the way!!!
ReplyDeletecongrats on being picked as an alternate!
ReplyDeleteyou're video totally cracked me up :)
That's disappointing....but keep that weekend free anyway. You never know!
ReplyDeleteEven to be considered an alternate is an accomplishment. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI understand being disappointed, but you never know! ;) Congrats on being chosen as an alternate... that's still huge!
ReplyDeleteAw, I think even making it as an alternate is amazing. Congratulations to you! :)
