I worked three days in a row this week, which I know to most of you isn't much, but since I usually never work more than 2 in a row it seemed like a lot! They were very busy days and work and I am beat. I was hoping to sneak in a run somewhere in there but it just wasn't to be, so when I got home from work, I put a movie on for the kids and hopped in the elliptical for 30 minutes. Not nearly as satisfying as a run, but helpful and a workout. Ahhh and I feel so much better for it.
This weekend will be pretty light with the running since I have a half NEXT weekend. YAY I am so excited. The weather forecast right now is saying a high of 78 and a low of 48. Whoa doggies that would be twenty degrees cooler than it was last year for that race. I am keeping my fingers crossed for that! The race is at 7 in the morning, so if all stays as is it could possibly be pretty bearable. I won't however hold my breath. I know by next Saturday it could be 100, this is Montana and July after all.
More good news, I don't have to cook tonight as I am cleaning out the fridge and we are eating leftovers! I have lemon basil chicken, meatballs, and hot dogs that all need to be ate up. I hate wasting food, I also really hate cooking. It just seems like such a chore. You make a mess, you eat, you clean it up. Start over. So monotonous. I just don't get why some people love to cook or bake for that matter. I just keep thinking of all the things I would rather be doing. like running, or reading, or just not being in the kitchen. I do however like to eat, and I like to eat relatively healthy so I cook and I definetly appreciate the efforts of others. I am always so happy when somebody cooks for me :) Anyone else with me on this one? If you like to cook, tell me why so I have a little inspiration next time.
Have great weekend everyone, I am off to get some leftovers warmed up! Any big plans for the weekend? We are going to hit a parade and then maybe I will get my man to go out with some friends tomorrow night and find a babysitter!
Don't forget to check out my giveaways HERE and HERE if you haven't already!
That is pretty nice weather! Have fun. I hope it stays nice for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm running 13 miles this weekend. I am pretty nervous about it!
Ah yes - I hate cooking so much that I am doing Nutrisystem just so I don't have to do it.
ReplyDeleteI love baking. Hate cleaning.
ReplyDeleteLeftover night when I was a kid was called must-goes. As in everything must go. It's mildly clever.
I like to cook one or two days a week and make A LOT extra so that I have tons of leftovers. I hate it, especially in the heat. Doesn't make sense to me to turn on an oven or stove.
ReplyDeleteI have a 10k tomorrow! I signed up for some small races this summer with the intention of doing some speed work. That didn't happen. Tomorrow should be interesting to say the least!
Ha! I tend to cook and leave the mess for my husband to clean up! And he usually does! I lucked out, I know :) I hate grocery shopping with all my kids in tow more than I hate cooking, though.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week in anticipation of your half... and great weather!
That weather for the race sounds magical.
ReplyDeleteI have a ridiculously busy weekend planned, but full of activity and fun. Have a great one!
Sometimes cooking can be tiring, but I do really enjoy it. It lets me be "creative" in the kitchen and I know that making your own meals is (usually) healthier. I always try to make meals that will last us for 2-3 nights so that I don't have to cook EVERY night. Also, I am very thankful that my husband will clean up afterwards! If you ever have a bug chunk of time and feel like cooking a lot (I know, rare for me too) you could always cook and freeze a few meals so that they are easy to thaw out and cook later! Good luck with your half next weekend!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about cooking! I really wish my husband liked to cook :P
ReplyDeleteThats a pretty strange temperature range!
ReplyDeleteThat would be great temps for a half! I try to stay away from long distances in the summer since it is usually so hot and humid here! I would love to cook if someone else could plan for me! But let's be real that's not going to happen any time soon!! Have fun with your leftovers!
ReplyDeleteHa! If i had any leftovers, I'd be joining your party! I LOVE to eat, but not so interested in cooking- especially with all the "helpers" I have :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes in your race next weekend!
OOh! Weather looks good for the race! Hoping it stays that way!! I like to cook but only for adult company....not so much for my family. I also hate wasting food. Lemon Basil chicken-yumm!! Hope you have a great weekend:)
ReplyDeleteI actually don't love cooking, but since I'm a food freak I make almost everything homemade
ReplyDeleteI LOVE not cooking dinner. We've had weddings every weekend for three weeks, so that's two dinners in a row I don't have to make...but then i get out of practice and don't ever want to cook. It's a vicious cycle.
