I Must Be Sick
I elected to skip the race today in light of having to buy my son, my husband, and a nephew and a niece birthday present. Already having signed up for two races this month something had to give so it was the race I had not signed up for yet. I was okay with this, though it does seem strange for me. I am a little sad about missing out, especially when I heard about all the really great prizes they had, but okay with my decision all the same. Instead I went for a 7 mile run, visited some with my Mom and then spent the bulk of the day putting away laundry and cleaning house. Not nearly as fun as racing a 5k!
This was what I was going to wear to the race today, but instead wore just for a semi long run. One week until the half marathon. :)
Here are some pictures from my run today
Mostly all the grass is dried up except in the creek bottoms, there is still some green. It won't be long now and the leaves on the trees will start turning. I love fall!
I also started reading this book yesterday. It is HUGE. I have been waiting to read this book since I read the first four in the series five years ago. I have since reread the first four books three times and am so excited about this one. I hope it lives up to expectations! Has anyone else read it or ay of the other books in the Fire and Ice Series? They made it into a show on HBO which I of course don't get and am too cheap to pay for so I haven't seen it :(
Cant wait to read everyone's race reports from today and tomorrow.
Also don't forget about my giveaways HERE and HERE if you haven't already entered!

Was worried when I saw your tweet! Glad you are not really sick... cute outfit, as ALWAYS.
ReplyDeleteme too...thought you were sick...I love that skirt!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could wear these...they are all too short!
I also wish I could run where you run
I need to move.
too many cars and people here!
Awww sad you had to miss the race, but I agree, sometimes something has to give! Life is so expensive! But you still had a good run, and got more than twice the miles in, AND you looked cute doing it!
ReplyDeleteYou still managed to get a really good run in! Plus, you have a half coming up so you have that to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of those books, but I've heard good things. I may have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the truth how sometimes life gets in the way of what we'd really rather be doing?
ReplyDeleteAwesome that you got a good run in through some lovely country anyway :)
Adorable running outfit! I would definitely wear it in your next race. Sometimes I think it's ok to sit out a race and just live your life. It gets to be alot sometimes. Racing is so much fun and it's something you could do every weekend.
ReplyDeleteI WISH I had such beautiful scenery to see on my runs! And.. OMG. So glad I found someone else who likes that series! I finished the first book a few months ago. I am reading another book right now (World Without End by Ken Follett, sequel to Pillars of the Earth), but when I finish, I will probably move on to the second one in that series!
ReplyDeleteI did LOVE the HBO show.
Cute outfit!! I'm to old to wear little stuff like that lol. Beautiful run!! You must be out in the country. What state is this?
ReplyDeletethe pics are amazing. such a beautiful area to run! your half will be here before you know it :)
ReplyDeleteSo jealous of your running territory! Looks fantastic. And now I have to go check out your giveaways--not sure how I missed them?
ReplyDeleteholy cow woman! you are fast! yay for a half next weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures! Do you stop to take them when you run or do you try to capture them when you are whizzing on by?
ReplyDeleteI haven't read or heard of that book or series. I have been reading a little bit of this and that lately, mostly chic lit.
Is this bodyrocktv on-line or on TV (I know that sounds like a weird question).
ReplyDeleteThanks!
