Tired Mom means Pizza for Dinner

The kids have not been adjusting well to the time change.  They go to bed really really early.  Little Cowgirl went to bed at 6 last night and the Little Cowboy I found asleep by the table at 7:30.  Which isn't so bad until morning when they are wide wide awake at 4 in the morning.  (That was actually the latest they had stayed up since Friday) Which is better than the 3:30 they got up the first two morning of the time change.   So I have to go to bed early too. As it is dark out now at by 5:30 that really isn't so hard to do.  The night before last was a full moon and I don't think I slept more than 2 hours.  Just when I did asleep the kids were ready to get up.  Ugh.  I felt a bit like a zombie yesterday at work. Thankfully I slept good last night and am ready to roll, which is good since I will have three extra kids three and under in the house this morning, I don't think I could have handled it yesterday.

My husband thinks I am crazy but I it seems like whenever there is a full moon and it is bright out I don't sleep good.  I talked to two other people yesterday who agreed with me though so now he is thinking it is a weird girl thing and maybe we are all part werewolf.  I tried to look it up on the internet but it was a little inconclusive.  It isn't supposed to affect your sleep, I still say it does.  I hate being tired.  When I am sleepy I turn into a major crankster. Just ask my husband. It isn't good.

A good nights sleep is good for your heart, your waistline, reduces stress, may help prevent cancer, reduces inflammation in the body, makes you more alert (duh), may reduce your risk for depression, bolsters your memory and gives your body needed time to make repairs.  What is not to love about sleep?

I was too tired to cook yesterday so I picked up some freezer pizzas.  Yum.  Not super healthy but super easy and yum.  :)

I won some Click protein powder and a shaker a little while ago and got it in the mail yesterday.  I had forgot I won it so that was  a fun surprise when I got home.   Excited to try it out later.

Kind of feel like I am rambling here.

Hoping to get in a run later, it is supposed to be nice out today but windy later.  Ugh hate the wind.  Yeah yeah I know that which doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. Doesn't mean I like it though.

Have a great Wednesday!  how much sleep do you get every night?
I like to get 8 hours in.  7 is just not always enough.

Do you hate the time change as much as I do?

  1. I hate the time change too. It is dark way to early, and my kids need to be up early for school, so it was a little easier on my daughter, but my son used to sleep in so I could go back to sleep for a bit once she was on her way, but that has ended. :( I need 8+ hours of sleep, and unless I go to bed by 10, it isn't happening.

  2. Yes, I hate it. When we lived in Japan the clocks never moved. Frankly I understand why they did it in the past but I don't think it's neccessary. I am not a good sleeper, I wake up like 10 times a night too pee! UGH!!!

  3. I like at least 7 hours, although I got more last night cause I crashed so early.

I love the time change in the morning bc I was literally at the office, getting the crews out in the dark. Now, it's light out....but it's dark before Tals and I even head out at night. The chances of me running in daylight have essentially disappeared!

  4. I don't sleep well with a full moon either! These past two days have been bad news!

    I love Click!!!

  5. I totally agree with the full moon thing and not sleeping well. I have the same issue, I do not think I'm crazy, but it's possible!

  6. Since the time change I've been getting 10+ hrs a night. My body is awfully confused. My pups are having a difficult time with the change, they are weird though and rather time sensitive to changes in their routine.

  7. I sleep for 8 hours as well whenever I can. Any less than that just isn't quite enough!

  8. Both my husband and I slept terribly the last two nights - I hadn't even made the connection. I like the time change for the mornings, but not the night. Thankfully my kids are old enough to still sleep in. My 11 year old acts like a teenager and would sleep til noon if she could.

  9. The moon usually doesn't bother my sleep too much but it really does mess with people. Usually if my students are unusually off...it is pretty much a full moon! I am such a cranky pants when I don't get enough sleep and tend to overreact on a lot of things. We totally made pizza last night too!

  10. The time change always messes with me :) I normally get anywhere from 6 - 8 hours of sleep…wish it was closer to 8 more often!

  11. Time change always screws with me too!! I would LOVE to get 8 hours of sleep but most days it's 6-7. There is NOTHING wrong with frozen pizzas on occasion. Tasty in my books ;)

  12. I need a good 7-8 hours too. Otherwise I feel tired all day...mind body and soul are tired.

  13. I have been all out of sorts since the time change, as well. I think I went to sleep at 8:30 the other day - a full 30 minutes before my kids' bedtimes. Old lady = me.

    I LOVE Click!

  14. I am a huge advocate of frozen pizza. :) ha ha me and you totally think a like.

I agree on hating the time change. It is so lame to go to work and drive home in the dark.

  15. we all need a frozen pizza break sometimes and its better than most peoples tired choices!

  16. There may not be science behind it, but I'm with you on the full moon! I always feel amped up and restless on full moons. I usually either have to drink some wine to get myself to settle down for the night or just plan on staying up really late and sleeping in the next morning. It's weird, but I've been like this for YEARS.

  17. I hate the time change because by the time we get home now just afer 5PM it is to dark to do anything! It blows! I would rather have it light later in the evening. I do like that I can trick my little one in thinking bedtime is earlier...lets see how long that last though.

  18. I like the fall time change for that one morning of extra sleep- then it just sucks. My kids already get up super early. We don't need another hour of that!
I think my body does best on 8 hours sleep and that's what I aim for. Sometimes it's just 7.

  19. ahhh! i totally agree about sleep. it is SO necessary for me and I just do not function well with any less than 7. but like you I prefer at least 8! i also totally feel ya on the wind...i would rather run in most conditions besides wind!

hope you get some rest tonight! good luck on your run!

  20. oh my/my kids sleep has been totally messed up with this time change! Usually the "fall back" thing works well for me, but not this year for some reason.

Nothing wrong with pizza here and there! Yummm!

  21. Maybe that's why I've been cranky the last few days. I will tell the hubby it was the time change:)

  22. I need at least 8 hours. When I get less than that, I get really cranky. My husband even tells me to get to bed when it's approaching 10pm because he knows what happens. What can I say, I've always been a sleeper. Oh, and an ocassional frozen pizza? Delicious :)

  23. You should watch Teen Wolf. If your family shows any of Michael J. Fox's symptoms, I would think about having it checked by a doctor. Pizza anytime, anywhere, any form is AWESOME!!!!!!

  24. This time change didn't affect me for some nice reason... normally they do.

I like to sleep 7 or 8 hours most nights. When I don't I want to eat too much...

  25. I'm actually really enjoying the time change but that's only because I like going to bed early and hate waking up earlier and it's easier for me to wake up in the morning when there's actually like outside.

  26. It is almost impossible for me to sleep through the night during a full moon! (I bought an eye mask. It helps, but last night it fell off while I was sleeping... Wide awake at 1:30am. Gah!)

  27. I hate Fall Back now because of the effect on kids. I used to like it because it meant more sleep for me in the morning, but now I prefer Spring Forward because bedtime happens earlier. Definitely with you on that....Part of me is blaming the fact that both my kids are suddenly sick on the time change.

And yeah, sleeping too little stinks...Glad you're on an even keel again.

  28. I need 8 hours! I hate Spring Forward more than Fall Back, but yeah, time change is hard!

  29. I love my bed at home......... Since I've been on the road, I don't sleep well......... Totally sucks!!

I find myself wanting to go to bed early because it seems so late.......... Daylight savings has its disadvantages!
