Three Things Thursday

1.  A little hello from Cola and I.  I know you wish you had a bright orange hat to run in too.  What can I say, it keeps my ears warm and I hate cold ears!

2.  I had a most beautiful run yesterday.  Sunshine.  Hardly any wind and 30 degrees!  I have to admit that after this past week or so it seemed heavenly.

Look there it is!   I even took off my gloves.

I did a 10 mile run.  It felt really good.  My legs are feeling really good right now. Strong, healthy and they want to run.

3.  I did a little baking? cooking? yesterday.  Not sure what it is called when you whip up a batch of muddy buddies/puppy chow.  I do know the end result is yummy.  I also made a batch of Chex mix.  Yummy.  :)

If you are interested in the recipe here it is, copied from the Chex website.  I do not endorse it in any way shape or form as healthy only yummy!

Ingredients
9cups Rice Chex®, Corn Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)
1cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2cup peanut butter
1/4cup butter or margarine
1teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2cups powdered sugar

Preparation Directions
1.Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2.In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3.Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
My kids definitely approved of this one. I would have to say me too!

I was just going to make Chex mix but my husband was not all that into it, apparently it is not his favorite.  Who knew?  I have been married to him for 6 years and I just found this out!

  2. Cola is so cute! And where you run is just gorgeous. I'd run outside more if it was 30, sun and NO wind. I haven't seen the sun lately and it's windy and cold :(

  4. Oh man, puppy chow is addictive. I can't just eat a couple pieces of it! And now I'm craving chocolate, dangit. Thank goodness I have healthy food in my lunch and no change for the vending machine or my diet would be doomed. lol

  5. I like your orange hat. I also wished I could run without holding a dog leash, but my dog isn't as smart as Cola. :)

  6. I need that orange hat so people don't try to run me over on the side of the road.

That chex mix is incredible. I never make it, though, because i"ll eat the whole batch!

  7. I have a fashionable hat such as yours (with matching vest) that I wear in the local park when X-country skiing. It is not a nice feeling to be a potential target otherwise!

And it must be the season....I too am creating Puppy Chow today for my baby (senior in high school).

Thanks as always for the inspiration to get moving.
