2. I had a most beautiful run yesterday. Sunshine. Hardly any wind and 30 degrees! I have to admit that after this past week or so it seemed heavenly.
Look there it is! I even took off my gloves.
I did a 10 mile run. It felt really good. My legs are feeling really good right now. Strong, healthy and they want to run.
3. I did a little baking? cooking? yesterday. Not sure what it is called when you whip up a batch of muddy buddies/puppy chow. I do know the end result is yummy. I also made a batch of Chex mix. Yummy. :)
If you are interested in the recipe here it is, copied from the Chex website. I do not endorse it in any way shape or form as healthy only yummy!
9 | cups Rice Chex®, Corn Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination) |
1 | cup semisweet chocolate chips |
1/2 | cup peanut butter |
1/4 | cup butter or margarine |
1 | teaspoon vanilla |
1 1/2 | cups powdered sugar |
1. | Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. | In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. | Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator. |
I was just going to make Chex mix but my husband was not all that into it, apparently it is not his favorite. Who knew? I have been married to him for 6 years and I just found this out!
10 miles, that's awesome. Such a great feeling when our legs feel and work that well! YAY!
ReplyDeleteCola is so cute! And where you run is just gorgeous. I'd run outside more if it was 30, sun and NO wind. I haven't seen the sun lately and it's windy and cold :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute dog! The weather sounded perfect for a 10 mile run yesterday! Love the scenery of where you get to run - absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh man, puppy chow is addictive. I can't just eat a couple pieces of it! And now I'm craving chocolate, dangit. Thank goodness I have healthy food in my lunch and no change for the vending machine or my diet would be doomed. lol
ReplyDeleteI like your orange hat. I also wished I could run without holding a dog leash, but my dog isn't as smart as Cola. :)
ReplyDeleteI need that orange hat so people don't try to run me over on the side of the road.
ReplyDeleteThat chex mix is incredible. I never make it, though, because i"ll eat the whole batch!
I have a fashionable hat such as yours (with matching vest) that I wear in the local park when X-country skiing. It is not a nice feeling to be a potential target otherwise!
ReplyDeleteAnd it must be the season....I too am creating Puppy Chow today for my baby (senior in high school).
Thanks as always for the inspiration to get moving.
What a great little running partner you have! And 30 sunny degrees can seem pretty sweet after a string of crappy weather--glad you got to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I love puppy chow and haven't had that forever! I made a bunch of peppermint bark the other day but now I have 2 lbs. of chocolate in my house....for just me. PROBLEM!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a gorgeous day for a run, plus great scenery. Puppy chow is so addictive...haven't had it for awhile, might need to whip up a batch!
ReplyDeleteI love when everything just feels great and you feel like you can't wait for another run, then another. Love it. Almost as much as puppy chow.;-)
ReplyDeleteGood job on your 10! Amazing sunshine. I have been running in the fog and hoping to see a little sun pop through:)
ReplyDeletemuddy buddies are my absolute fave!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love Muddy Buddies. Frozen ones are even better! And glad you got to see the sun! Even when it's cold out it makes such a difference!
ReplyDeleteYour run sounds great :) I love nice cool weather and no wind for a long run :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I LOVE muddy buddies!!!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for a wonderful 10 mile run - sounds awesome! :-)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm... I love muddy buddies! I haven't made those in forever!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the run! I am actually really loving this winter running. I think my legs like it better, too.
Cola is super cute :)
ReplyDeleteI love all forms of Chex Mix :)
Love your hat - I need a good hat that will keep my ears warm.
ReplyDeletePuppy chow is like crack! I cannot stop eating it if it is in front of me. Crack! Glad you got a little warmer weather for running!!
ReplyDeleteMuddy buddies are the best! The cupcake shop near my old work made a muddy buddy cupcake. I never tried it but I mean...combining muddy buddies and cake, you just can't go wrong!
ReplyDeletePuppy Chow was a staple item for the holidays when I worked at the bank. Great job on your run!
ReplyDeleteYummmmm puppy chow!! Best thing ever. :)
ReplyDeleteI have always loved Chex Mix, but Im a traditional gal. bring on the salt!!
ReplyDeleteNice 10 miler, it must be so calming.
I love that Chex mix!! My sister makes it every Christmas and I can't stop eating it once I start!! Cola is so cute but he needs to put his sweater on!! My dogs hate clothes and when I put sweaters on them they act like the can't move! It's pretty funny!! Enjoy the great weather!
