Aww come here 2012 and give me a hug. Really |
This about sums it up for me.
Funny to think that when I lived in town I went to the gym more than I ran outside. I love running so much more now that I am never on a treadmill. It is supposed to be super nice out again today, so I am crossing my fingers I will have time for a short run after work again.
So hard to not run when it is this nice out, torture really. Last January was so awful there were so few days it was even halfway decent outside to get in a run and I know I never ran in a skirt or shorts last January. I remember talking about it with a co-worker.
I love this skirt btw. I wasn't sure if I would with all the ruffles. It just feels fun, girly, and strangely FAST to run in. It has a boatload of great pockets on it too. YAY!
One of my goals this year is to keep running clothes in my car so that when I do get off work early, I can change into them after work. This way I don't have to go into the house and get distracted by things, like my computer and then not get in a run or not get as long of a run as I could have.
Tell me something great about your day yesterday, or today. Something great that makes you think 2012 will be a great year.
Is that realy snow on the ground? I would like to feel what 50 degrees is like there compared to here. I am always told that our cold feels colder because it is a wet cold.
ReplyDeleteI think this year will be a great year because of the new baby! :) I am getting more and more sleepless nights due to kicking, heartburn, and going use the bathroom umpteen times a night so I think I might do ok when she comes along...I hope! :)
It's been so mild here too so far. I'd run outside a lot more if I lived where you are- I love the mountains and fields. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI wish it has been mild it has been 40s here in PA but a cold rain and wind. Today it is now 20s and a dusting of snow. But I have been out in the rain several times. Today I will probably stick with the treadmill still coming back from a stress fracture I don't want to be on slippery snow yet.
ReplyDeleteAdorable skirt & you were fast before the skirt! Love that you were able to get out in a skirt in January! Our 'warm' is over. 15 degrees today. brrrrrrr
ReplyDeleteCute skirt! I was hoping the mild weather would hold out for my run this morning but no luck, barely 20 degrees. But it'll be back up near 50 for my long run this weekend - lovin' it!
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt!!! And yay for warm weather =)
ReplyDeleteI didn't have time to run yesterday morning (or during the day) - my husband, son, and I were out all day. I'm NOT a night runner, but decided to go for a run (on the treadmill) after I put my son to sleep! It felt so good to get 6 miles in before I went to bed =)
So far so good for me on some clean eating and a 7 day detox. Plus 3 straight days of running. I'll take it!
ReplyDeleteSuddenly it's 50 degrees there and it's 20 here! That is not fair :P
ReplyDeleteWe had hip high drifts of snow all of last January so I did all of my running on the treadmill. So far this month it's just a sheet of ice, so I'm playing it safe today and doing some 800s on the treadmill. I'm really looking forward to having a friend come over to catch up over a cup of tea this afternoon! It will be great.
ReplyDeleteI love these pics of you!! You look so happy!! At least you have some warm weather too on your side!
ReplyDelete2012 will be great because it's the year of my first 70.3!!
I had a super day yesterday too!
ReplyDeleteI blogged about it. It was just glorious outside.
I'm glad your having good running weather, love the skirt.
I love that last pic of you!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the last picture and the ruffles on the skirt are so cute! The weather here was terrible yesterday. Extreme wind gusts (enough to knock our WSU flag down) and pouring rain. It was still an awesome day, since I was able to hang out in front of the fire with my hubby all day long:)
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is the BEST PICTURE EVER! That is the joyfulness I seek in every run :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I am jealous of your skirt....cute AND with lots of pockets! I'm going to have to get one of those!
We've had pretty crazy weather also - cycles of high 40s to seasonably cold, and first snow that stuck on New Years day - and I'm not complaining:)
ReplyDeleteLove those Chinooks that blow through and warm things up! Nice that you were able to get out and take advantage of it.. good idea to leave some running gear in your car.
ReplyDeleteI got in a good strength workout and got my turkey carcass cooked in the crock = lots of broth now for soup! hurray for 2012!
I so agree with you, I just love a nice run when it is so perfect outside :) I love your skirt - my mom is exchanging a Lulu top she got me for the skirt and I can't wait! I'm still in Michigan and it's been so cold and now it's icy and snowy, but we go back to Arkansas tomorrow and it's around 60 degrees!
ReplyDeleteAwesme photo...I feel like that when I run outside too but don't have anyone to capture it on camera :)
ReplyDeletethis weather is very nice, i agree! So glad you got off work to go run and enjoy the weather! We have yet to have any snow here and while it gets cold at night we dont really have any too cold days! I think we will be in the 60s the end of the week. Nice to have a mild so far winter compared to last year where it snowed or iced almost every single Friday so you were stuck at home for the weekends
ReplyDeleteadoring these pictures!! you make me want to go run right now!
ReplyDeleteLove the last pic!
ReplyDeleteCute cute skirt! I love that it has been warmer out then normal so everyone is getting a chance to run outside.
ReplyDeleteKeeping your clothes in your car is a great idea! I used to go straight to workout after work and change there so I knew I wouldn't be tempted by the couch!
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt so much!! It is just plain adorable, must splurge to buy one!! It was really warm here yesterday too, almost 70, and I ran in short sleeves, it was glorious!!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I just looked at the weather forecast for Great Falls as I am going home tomorrow night for about a week. I was SO excited to see high 50s and sun in the forecast. It will definitely be a nice change from Seattle, and I'm definitely bringing running clothes knowing that I won't have to go outside in sub-freezing temps.
ReplyDeleteSo, so with you on the outdoor running! Only way to go. And please send the weather this way--we finally had a cold day today; broke out the full-length tights!
ReplyDeleteSomething great about my day? I got to spend 2.5 hours at the dentist getting all my kids teeth cleaned ;).
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't count? I got a great, easy 7 mile run in before the sun came up!
By the way- LOVE that picture and love the skirt!
ReplyDeletethat pic of you is seriously my favorite! the look of pure joy :) and the skirt...LOVE!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE JOY ON YOUR FACE :) Makes me wanna go out and conquer the world!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW 50+ degrees, how nice! We woke up to 10 degrees this morning. I have been sick since New Year's Eve but one thing that has been great is that I have kept up with my food journal since Jan. 1st so I feel good about that and hope to be able to keep it up this year.
ReplyDeletelove the pic! it was in the teens here today, not so beautiful but it really gets you moving to stay warm. when i was in college and commuting a lot i always kept running gear in my trunk in hopes of squeezing in many impromptu runs. made it a lot more fun.
ReplyDeleteOh man our weather has totally flip-flopped! You have my 50 degree weather and I have your 20 degree weather! lol Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures!! You even *almost* make me want a skirt.
ReplyDeleteYes, we've had the same beautiful weather. I did six miles this morning and it felt effortless. Too much to ask that the weather be just.like.that in Houston???
Let's see....what am I loving about 2012 so far.....that my black interview pants from 2005 fit me again? Yeah, I love that. That I get to try out the Alter-G next week? Yes! Start the year out with a win! But even better....maybe...BQ'ing isn't as far out of the realm of possibility as I thought (still pretty far out but not AS far...)
Happy New Year again!
I love running outside as well! Cool photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd 2012 so far - I ran outside - at 4:30am. Nothing new there, but it felt good to do it and get back on a regular schedule again!
By the photos it looks like you had some beautiful running weather. www.dashingdiva.net
ReplyDeleteI had a gorgeous run outside yesterday, too! Can't get enough of the sunshine/ cool weather combo. I used to do lots of treadmill running, too... what were we thinking?! :)
ReplyDeleteThat second picture made me burst out with a gasp of LOVE!!! lol you are so awesome and I can't believe it's that hot there.....it's freezing here in Canada now :( tights for me!
ReplyDeletenice legs ;)
