My major motivation for getting my butt out the door right now is this. It may be going to warm up today, but what that means for me is if I wait until it is in the high thirties to run I will be running in mud.
This says there is no wind, but that is also in Billings 25 miles away and I can see the swings outside moving a little so I am guessing I will have a little bit of a windchill. The sun is shining though so it should feel nice.
I picked up the latest issue of Self magazine when I was at the grocery store Saturday. Shaun T from the Insanity workouts shared 6 moves that you do for a minute each without resting, then rest one minute and repeat 6 times. Pretty much a killer leave you wasted on the floor when you are done kind of workout. I loved it. You can see the videos to the moves HERE on Self.com. Anyone else try this? I dare you!
I know when I was done I was a sweaty mess. My husband even tried some of it and he only made it through two rounds.
Handful Sports Bras are also giving two people the opportunity to win two bras each by helping promote their closeout sale. The pink, nude, and cocoa bras are all on sale for $28 until they sell out. Once they are sold out sounds like they will be rolling out some NEW STUFF! So go to their website at
I hope you get your run in before the road turns to mud! I'm going to try that Self workout! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to spring. :) Getting sick of winter already, and we're just in January! Ughh
ReplyDeleteI really hate running in the cold. For me, I prefer the heat. I generally wimp out and run on a treadmill when it gets chilly. And with ice and snow out...ugh. Just not for me.
ReplyDeleteLike the quote for motivation!
Great job on the workout. I will try out that workout next week since I'll be minimizing my running that week, sounds hard and great!! I shared the handful link, it'd be cool to win since I'm iffy on trying them, not sure how well it will work for me...
ReplyDeleteya, what is with this weather?!?!?!? it's really creeping me out. I like it b/c I get to play in the snow and then it melts, I get some runs in....then it snows, we play, melts I run....lol but it's seriously freaking me out.
ReplyDeleteI love handful. I want them all!!!!! so I posted
I am going to accept your dare and try that workout :P
I have been wanting to try the Insanity workouts but don't want to spend the money on the videos so I will check out that video when I get home, thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's snow/rainy here today. Looks like either a rest day or treadmill run for me.
Hope you have a great run. I tried on of Shaun T ab workouts. I didnt care for his style of workout. But that is just me. I'm more of a jillan, jackie warner, bob, turbo jam workout girl. I'm however going to get me a gymboss and try these TABATA workouts I keep reading about. I do better with dvd instead of putting it together my self.
ReplyDeleteI hope your run goes well. I have a lot of friends that love insanity. I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteWe had 11 inches of snow this weekend and tomorrow it is going to be close to 50!! Craziness! I hope you get in a run before the mud!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to check that workout out today...Insanity is just that!
Woot! Thanks for the links to the workout. You've just made my Wednesday boot camp a little easier to plan :-)
ReplyDeleteMud is bad, but wind is worse. Cold is much better, I agree.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of killer moves....I bought a Core workout DVD from McMillan Running and tried some of the moves last night. The hardest was kneeling and balancing on a stability ball. I could not even manage 2 seconds at that (nor could my husband), and Level 1 has you doing 3 x 5 seconds! This actually is exciting, because I have something that I think will improve a lot once I start working seriously on it.
Hope you had a good run! That workout sounds crazy :) And I love those Handful bras, I couldn't resist the sale and got a pink one. I'm debating another….
ReplyDeleteI'd hate to have to pick between freezing cold and mud! Both are rough. Does Cola still run with you when it's that cold?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...mud- you do have to do laundry anyway...mud can be therapeutic!!
ReplyDeleteBut, you are the Dirt Road runner, not the Muddy Road runner!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely choose cold over mud!
ReplyDeleteI saw 19 and thought 'holy wow is that ever warm' or something along those lines, and then realized that you are talking F,not C!
ReplyDeleteGonna check out that SELF link.
We've actually had a very mild winter, but I'm still sick of it! I am ready for some warm sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI'd pick cold over mud. Have an awesome run!
ReplyDeletesun can make all the difference on a run..even if its super chilly...its nice to be out in the sun :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like gorgeous weather! Hope you enjoyed your run! :0)
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO, the roads are ALWAYS open :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having some kind of winter!
ReplyDeleteIt was almost 70 degrees here on Sunday and we even had a severe weather/tornado warning.
I feel cheated out of a winter.
Anyway, you are tagged. Check out my latest post!
If it isnt windy I go with cold over mud, if its windy than I go warmer and muddy. Darn decisions right, haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm a wuss with the cold so I'd probably end up running in the mud.
