Do you Linky?

Lucky for me, work was done early on Friday and I escaped for a run, while the kids played with their cousins.

Little Bitty wanted to take a picture on my back.  Turns out I didn't even need to wear the hat, it was really nice out.  I left for work in the morning and it was snowing.  I was all bummed thinking winter was trying to set in again, but it was 45 degrees when I got home..NICE!

I took a short run along the creek that goes by my parents house.  In a couple short months all this brown, brown, brown will be green!  I am feeling so ready for spring.

I did manage to get a war wound while out running.  Somehow I scraped the zipper against my ankle.  I didn't notice it was bleeding until I got back though.  No wonder it hurt!

 All better!
I see that Google Friend Connect is going away.  Boo.  SO if you want to keep following I think that means you have to subscribe by others means?..  I would love it if you did.  You can follow by Facebook, twitter, my RSS feeds, or email.  I also found something called Linky  and interestingly enough I had 5 followers there already.  If you want to follow by Linky just click on the link in my sidebar underneath Google Friend Connect.  It is pretty easy to set up and has a lot of features that GFC doesn't.  Check it out HERE

I am sure this is a plot by Google to get us to use Google+ in their bid to take over the world, but it kind of makes me cranky! what is wrong with leaving well enough alone.

Just curious what everyone else is doing about losing GFC.  So let me know!

  1. Since I have a blogger blog, it's supposedly should be fine for all my followers....but it's such a pain for everyone I follow!

  2. Not really sure what to do about gfc yet. I read on someone else's blog that if yours is powered by google you can keep it, but Indont know what that means for the other blogs that aren't blogger operated.

I have a pair of tights that do that to the back of my ankle and never seem to notice until I get home. Love that your little one plays doctor.

  11. Google friend connect is going away??!! BOO!! How will I know how many people stalk me? :) I use google reader to subscribe to all the blogs I read but I don't think there is a way that they bloggers know that. I'll be curious to see what people start using to connect...

  12. I thought they were doing away with it for Blogger after other sites? I'm guessing we won't be able to see the feeds on blogger home pages, either. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, yet as I haven't looked into it.

In the one picture, you kinda look like a funky bicycle :)

  14. I have had the same thing with the zipper. Not fun!

I don't know what to do about GFC going away. I am really not savy enough to figure out how to read blogs another way. I guess I could just use my blog list, but since I am behind in reading a lot, I think I would miss lots of post. What a pain and I think it is connected to Google+. I will check out linky. Thanks for the tip.

  15. ouch! that looks pretty painful. I'm definitely annoyed by GFC going away and may look into this linky this as well. Going to check it out in a minute. I don't know why they have to complicate things for us :P

  18. I really wish they would explicitely come out and say what is going on. I'm only hearing about it from other bloggers and 3-rd person sites. Last I heard, GFC will be ending for blogger as well, but it will take longer than non-blogger sites. I DO read some of my blogs on google reader, but I don't like that I can't see who's reading MY blog then.

Maybe I'll have to check into Linky. This whole thing is a royal pain in the rear end. :-/

  23. Yikes! That looks like it stung. Hope it heals quick.
I have no idea what I will do or if it is even going away for me. I don't like change. Grrr.
    Looks like a beautiful day.

  25. Blogger blogs should watch out too - it will stay on yours longer but if it's going it's going :) and I deleted my GFC and everyone still visits from their blogger dashboard?? I set up a super easy RSS feed with feed burner so the user can chose from a plethora of readers to which to subscribe. Some users will follow by email and I figure ya, I'm going to lose followers but if people really want to read me they'll figure out a way. I've tried to make it easy for them.

I've simply added everyone to my google reader instead :)

also - how we are supposed to follow by google+ is beyond me. I don't even like it

  26. Wow cant believe your zipper bit your ankle like that! OUCH! Hope you heal quick

  27. That ankle looks ouchy! Good thing you had a nurse handy! :) I've been burying my head in the sand about GFC and I am so glad to hear that people who use blogger will be fine! WoohoO!

  28. I use Google Reader--I don't think that's going away, right? Or is it all part of the same thing? I'm sure I will lose followers.

Regardless, in your case I see you on Facebook too, so it's all good. :^)

  30. Awww...what a good little medic she is! Is that an Elmo bandaid? Glad that boo-boo was easily fixed :) And the GFC thing...I use Blogger so not worrying yet...but I hear that even Blogger will lose GFC at some point. Not sure what to do about it! I have lots of blogs linked in my sidebar so I will have easy access to everyone still.

  31. I'm not entirely sure what google friend connect even is. Does that make me sound really stupid? :) Your pictures are so cute. Gosh, you are all muscle aren't you?

  32. Ouch! I bet that hurt! It's so annoying that all these social media sites keep changing things! Might check out Linky....

  33. ouch! looks like you have a great little nurse at home! she must get it from her mom!

GFC is totally confusing me, so annoying.

  34. Your poor ankle! I dont' really understand how Google can possibly think that Google+ is ever going to become popular. I hope it doesn't. And I tried Tropical Nuun for the first time today and it's my new favorite!

  35. I use Reader but am not sure which blogs I subscribed to manually, or entered the feed in and which I clicked on GFC! So it's probably going to be a mess when it's gone!

  36. Ouch, I know that burned when you took a shower!
