Performing a Civic Duty..Still

today is day four of being on jury duty.  We thought we would be done yesterday..not so.  I can't of course share any details, but this is so much harder than I ever imagined it would be.  and what is a reasonable doubt?

This is also day four of no running and I am going a little nuts about that,  but I guess it is good to give the body a break now and again too.

Bright notes.. I won a Nuun giveaway at Detroit Runner and found out I get to be a wear tester again for Brooks. I should have to new shoes to try out by Monday.

  1. GL with jury duty, never had the pleasure (but it seems like every American I know has been called in the last month). Maybe less trials, but, being called for Jury duty isn't that common here.

  4. That's exciting about Brooks! I love my Brooks shoes so I wish I could do the same!

I've never ever been called for jury duty! I used to think it was because I moved to much and they couldn't find me, but but I've been in the same place for a bit now....maybe i'm lucky ;)

  5. I'm so sorry about jury duty. I was on a jury for 3 weeks in November. IF you get on one, it's not that bad. I found it interesting. . . and very reality TV. Mine was about pimps and prostitutes. . you can just imagine!

  6. I've been summoned 3 times but never served. Kinda intrigued to see what it's all about. Enjoy your little break from running, then hit it hard when jury duty is over! Congrats on the Brooks and the Nuun giveaway.

  7. Haha I am so happy that hopefully in a year i'll be a public defense attorney and never ever have to sit on jury duty. Thanks for doing your civic duty (even though it means no running)!!

  8. Booo Jury duty and no running.
Maybe you should ask that the jurors be aloud to take an hour run to clear your heads and make better decisions. I know I shouldn't be responsible for the decisions I make when I haven't run in four days. ;-)
I hope you get out of there today and get a good run in.

  10. I've gotten out of jury duty twice now because I knew one of the lawyers working on the case. I've known the one since preschool and the other has kids I used to babysit for. lol. I guess I've just been lucky.

  11. Can you tell us about it after it's over? Is it weird that I am somehow dying to be on a jury? I think its from all the law shows I've watched - I want to see it in action! I got called once but it was for a worker's comp case and the guy had a seizure while we were being questioned so they had to get rid of all of us since we were "contaminated"! I was sad!

  15. I've only been called for Jury duty once, and I reported every day, but never got called for a case. So basically I hung out at the courthouse and read books for a week...kind of nice I suppose....

    congrats on Brooks! That's exciting!

  16. Hate jury duty .... only didn't get out of it once - when I was 19. It was an attempted murder and freaked me out for weeks afterward.

I hope you will be done today.

Yay for the Nuun win and the Brooks gig! That is awesome... get some of those pretty aqua shoes.
