My verdict.YUM! I think it just may be my new favorite flavor right behind the chocolate and peppermint.
I ended up running just over 8 miles around town. I knew I shouldn't run too far because I had some intervals planned for today.
Which brings me to number
2. I had a crappy run today. Probably because I ran 8 miles after work yesterday, didn't eat a good supper, and then tried to run 800 intervals at 930 this morning. Crappy. 800 intervals always kick my butt, not really sure what I was thinking running 8 miles last night now.
Snow+ice+wind+mud +tired legs = crappy run |
Crappy. Some runs are like that. These are the kind of runs that really make me appreciate the good ones. Like all the great ones I had last week.
Okay that is my whine for the day..now maybe for some wine..
Pretty sure I was just miserable today |
3. This afternoon was beautiful outside. I had to go to the butcher to pick up my half a beef, so on the way we stopped and played in the park and I let myself ignore all the housework waiting at home for me. Come to think of it, I am still ignoring it. That may or may not change in the next hour.
I'm so spoiled - I haven't had a single snowy run this year...
ReplyDeleteI actually cut my run short today because I want some decently fresh legs for a race on Saturday. Back to back runs are just not working for me these days.
How long does it take you to go through a half of beef? I buy it by the eighth of a steer and it usually lasts us a year...
It takes us about a year to eat it. We eat a lot of beef, but we also get ours really cheap.
DeleteJealous of you not having a single snowy run this year!
You're right - the bad runs make those great ones so good!
ReplyDeleteI have a pack of Peanut Butter Gu and have not tried it yet. I was thinking it would be weird but I am going to try it now! Considering the weather conditions I think it is great that you get out there!
ReplyDeleteDo try it! It wasn't what I had imagined but it was really good, I am going to buy more.
DeleteSorry you had a bad run:( Way to ignore the chores. Playing in the park with the kids is so much better!
ReplyDeleteIt is! We had so much fun :)
DeleteYou motivate me. I would not be outside with the kind of weather.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure I would either some days if I had a treadmill :)
DeleteRunning in snow and ice is hard work -so good job!! I have never heard of peanut butter or peppermint Gu. Will have to shop around for that! DO you ever eat the Honey Stinger waffles? Love those!
ReplyDeleteI love those! They are harder to find around here though :(
Deletewait a minute, Peanut Butter?!? Holy cow, that might knock chocolate mint out of the water. A few weeks ago I had a basket of laundry that I kept meaning to put away, then somehow I ended up washing it! I washed clean clothes!!!!
ReplyDelete...at least you knew they were really clean! I hate it when I don't get clothes put away and then again I hate putting away clothes too.
DeleteJust seeing that snow could make me have a crappy run. Awesome job just getting out there. Also, I like how your solution to wasting time between work and a meeting is a run :)
ReplyDeleteLove the miserable quote....keep up the running girl - good or bad...it's still running.
ReplyDeleteI love that PB Gu.. not a fan of peppermint much.
ReplyDeleteHurray for fun afternoons in the park!
That sounds just like my day, except I didn't try my speedwork :). I ran 8 yesterday but decided on just an easy run instead once I started. Maybe tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI really need to try that Peanut Butter Gu- I have heard so many people say it is their new favorite!
Peanut butter GU? This sounds like heaven! I am going to have to find some in Spokane this weekend. I wonder if REI would have it?
ReplyDeleteYour blog makes me crave winter - real winter, not the rainy mess that southerners call winter. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteAnd PB GU sounds amazing. yummmy
There is nothing wrong with ignoring housework!
ReplyDeletei've had the PB gu twice... loved it both times. I don't mind running in the snow, HOWEVER, with the wind... not so much. thumbs down for me too!
ReplyDeleteI have no experience running in the snow but I think the wind would be brutal. It can be fairly warm here but if it's windy I have to have my ears covered.
ReplyDeleteUgh, the wind ruins everything! I hate it. I did a 4 mile walk yesterday to just enjoy the sunshine but the wind totally ruined it and my lips are completely wind-burned. Hurts and it's annoying. Today was much better though. 8 beautiful miles and a titch of a sunburn from wearing a tank top, haha.
