I loved everything I read about Skinnybits, although I do feel like I need to insert a bit of a disclaimer here. Skinnybits is for people who want to lose weight easily. I do not feel like I need to lose weight. Sure I wouldn't mind a pound or two, but it is nothing I worry or obsess about. I am happy with my weight! I wanted to try it more to see how it helped control hunger since winter is coming on and that is when I tend to gain weight if I don't try to curb my eating a little.
Here is what they look like. My kids thought they smelled terrible and I would have to agree..not an appetizing smell.
Small and easy to swallow. They also say you can chew them or add them to salads, yogurt, smoothies, really whatever you want. Personally I can't imagine adding them to a salad or yogurt. Smoothies, maybe.
I recommend not chewing them. They are chalky and they taste bad. I felt like they got stuck in my teeth and turned my whole mouth green. I only chewed 5 tabs.
Swallowing them was much better.
I did feel like they helped provide me with good energy on a run, but not too sure since I took them for a long run that I can attest to Skinnybits controlling hunger.
They recommend taking 20-40 tabs at a time up to 300 a day. A bag of 1000 tabs will set you back $115.
No kidding. With prices like that I can guarantee I won't be taking anymore of those, fabulous health benefits or not.

another thing I can't figure out. There are twelve tabs per serving. You are supposed to take 20 to 40 at a time. best results are at 40-100 a day but you can take up to 300. The minimum amount suggested is just over a serving a a half. Why don't they just make 20 a serving size? Seems neater that way.
Nutritional stats look great, but this is one product fabulous or not I just can't afford. I really wanted to like this, but I just couldn't overall. Feels like a product for the rich and famous neither of which is me.
Anyone else tried Skinnybits or Energybits?
I was sent a sample of Skinnybits to try and review free of charge. The opinions expressed here are my own. I was not compensated in monetary form for this post.
Those sound completely awful. I think I'd rather gain a couple of pounds in the winter than take weird algae pills.
ReplyDeleteIt just sounds like so many to take! I take Spirulina Pacifica, but the dose is only 6 a day, much more manageable. I also have it as a powder that is perfect to add to smoothies, dressings, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your review...I have heard so much about them but haven't gotten the chance to try them. I didn't realize you had to take so many a day! That is a pretty steep investment!
ReplyDeleteOh wow that is totally interesting, I cant believe they are so darn expensive!
ReplyDeletelol! love this benefit "great for vegans who hate greens". sounds like a rip off and a lot of trouble. seriously, up to 300 tablets a day?? $115?? no thank you!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your honest and informative review. They're probably not a product I'd ever have a need for, anyway, but they sound like an expensive fad.
ReplyDeleteI have some "energybits" in my fridge that I haven't tried yet. Probably because it says to take 30-45 and I think the little container only holds that many. That is extreemely expensive. You could pay for 4 personal training sessions for that $$. Maybe I will try mine today for my run:)
ReplyDeleteWho wants to chug all those pills? Doesn't it seem like we have enough stuff to do in a day without taking a zillion pills?
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would be down for trying to swallow 20 of those at a time....strange. I think they need ti figure out a better method.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would be buying them. $115 is a little too spendy for me.
ReplyDeleteThose sound so, so gross. I'd never try them, even if I got paid.
ReplyDeleteIt kinda reminded me of black liqorice....I hate black liqorice........
ReplyDeleteI spelled liqourice wrong...not even sure I spelled it right this time, lol!
ReplyDeleteyikes, you are braver than me. If I opened them up and saw them, I wouldn't take them. Seems like way too much work taking way too many tabs in a day. Glad you a gave a completely honest review!
ReplyDeleteI tried the Skinny Bits too. It just wasn't enough of a sample size to really get an idea of their affect. I like the idea of them, but I'm turned off by the cost, too.
ReplyDelete20-40 tabs/day & a green mouth?! I pass!
ReplyDeleteOn another topic, Dannon plain yogurt isn't low-fat so I use that.
THANK YOU!!! I didn't post a review for this very reason. I love what the product offers because I do know the power of chlorella and spirulina, but seriously 20-40 of anything a day is just not me. I know in talking with their team it was a bragging point that the owner might take 140 energy bits in the morning instead of breakfast...I don't think that's harmful and I'm glad it works for her but just doesn't work for me.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they noticed that “Reduces Metal Fatigue” is listed twice. I wonder if the writer was mentally fatigued by having to down all those pills. ;)
