1. Way back in June I won a giveaway from Holly at the Pioneer Apron for a long sleeve stretch flex bamboo shirt from Running Chics. I got the black one with the Marathon chics on it, since by the time I would get it in the mail I would have run my first marathon by then.
I really love this shirt. It is so soft and stretchy. I have been wearing it about once a week since the weather turned cooler. As soon as I get it washed, I put it back on. It gets bonus points for being naturally anti-bacterial and made out of 57% bamboo. Not that I am obsessed with bamboo it just is fun telling people my shirt is made out of bamboo.
The only thing about it I would change is to add thumbholes. I seem to be obsessed with having thumbholes on running shirts though.
They also sent me this great little tote bag. I love getting bonus prizes!
I was not in any way even asked to do this review I just wanted to share a shirt I am loving right now.
2. I got my flu shot yesterday. OW! I am really a big wuss about getting shots. In my defense..THEY HURT! I have no problem giving shots to others though. Much funner that way.
3. Running... it is going to happen today, but not this morning. It is cold, windy, misting, foggy and well.. cold.
Since it is supposed to be nicer out this afternoon I am going to wait a bit. In the meantime I will be drinking my tea, playing with kids and maybe doing a ZWOW, Bodyripped workout or an old Bodyrock workout.
Are you a wuss about getting shots too?
If you know the weather will improve do you wait it out or just get it done? For me usually depends on childcare. Today I will have the wait it out luxury. :)
That shirt is super cute!
ReplyDeleteI hate shots. They don't frak me out or anything, I just think it's icky.
I hate needles. Love the shirt. No if I dont workout in the morning, it's probably not going to get done. I pretty much a morning girl, by afternoon just out of the mood. I like to run on an empty stomach too. Not liking the looks of that weather you are having. You can keep it.
ReplyDeleteI love the shirt!!!! Needles don't bother me so much. I've been wanting a flu shot but have been afraid to get it for fear I'd have a reaction before my marathon. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
ReplyDeleteAs for running - most of the time I don't have childcare flexibility - so I have to run when I have the time. Rain/mud/snow/cold - makes us stronger, right?
I feel like I'm retreating more and more to my treadmill if I want to run in the morning at all these days. It is 7:30 but it's still pitch black, and I don't feel comfortable running on my own here in the dark even with a headlamp.
ReplyDeleteshots and needles, in general, don't bother me at all. I think you're in the more "normal" category, regarding that, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI understand the need for thumbholes, too. They're like a replacement for gloves on the days it's not quite cold enough for them.
I hate needles and could never give someone a shot! I even avoid having my blood drawn but gave in this year since I have not had a physical in years and knew that it was for my own good. If I know the where is going to improve I definitely move my schedule around especially if it is a long run. I want the weather to be as best as possible! Love your shirt too!
ReplyDeleteI laughed when you said you like giving them. I just got certified to immunize in March and I had no problems giving the shot, but I couldn't stand getting them. :) I'm more of an evening runner so I always wait it out!
ReplyDeleteI love that shirt! And the tote bag - very cute! I din't mind injections too much normally, but that "pin prick" for a blood drop (iron test when donating blood) is one that I dread!
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is so cute, I love the logo:) NO flu shot for me. I probably should get one. I usually wait out the weather if possible:)
ReplyDeletei think i've become desensitized to all things doctor. i had to give myself shots and really didn't flinch after the first one and not because it didn't hurt, i totally botched it, but I just wanted it done :)
ReplyDeleteCute shirt! I am with you, though- LOVE thumbholes.
ReplyDeleteI hate getting shots- especially ones that hurt for days after.
I love bamboo garments. I have bamboo tights and also bamboo arm sleeves and they are so soft and comfy. That shirt and bag are cute!
ReplyDeleteDon't mind shots and needles in general. I have had so many blood tests and sedation drips these past several months that they don't even phase me anymore... even when the nurse isn't all that good at it!
I REALLY hate getting shots. Sometimes I pass out - it freaks me out so much. I don't even think I could give them to other people!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your views!! Beautiful country.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly are thumbholes in running shirts?

Oh I am horrible about getting shots too...they make me so nervous! Even though I'm an RN and I give shots to people all the time....
ReplyDeleteLOL!! I am an RN & HATE getting shots too! I have no problem giving the nastiest of them though ;)
ReplyDeleteI HATE getting shots!!!!! They do hurt! I still need to get my flu shot, thanks for reminding me :/
ReplyDeletelove your shirt!
ReplyDeleteCute top! I love the tops that have the thumbholes now!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing my best to avoid getting a flu shot. I've only had the flu twice and both times it was the year I got a flu shot. Unfortunately the hospital is pushing for 100% participating with employees as well as volunteers so we will see how that goes.
ReplyDeleteThat's dense fog! I always loved waking up to fog and trying to pick out the cows in the distance as it cleared.
I also hate needles, blood work, anything like that. I find it's best to rub the area when you get an injection - it spreads the liquid around and makes it less concentrated - that's what I'm going with anyway ;)
