Friday favorites and not favorites

It is looking greener outside.  It is a sight for sore eyes, won't be much longer before the trees are leafing out too. Loving it.

I FINALLY updated my phone and entered the world of smart phones.  YAY.  Now I can take my phone running and at the same time have a camera and my tunes or podcasts all in one handy little gadget. The guy at the phone store was trying to talk me into an Android which I probably could have been happy with but I have an iPad so the learning curve so an iPhone is pretty small and I really really wanted the iPhone.

don't mind the cord in the picture I am still learning to take pictures with my iPhone.

A not favorite right now... the wind! I could hardly run yesterday.  I ran three miles into the wind and one mile with it beating at me from the side and then three miles with the wind.  My splits with the wind were almost 2 min/mile faster and I was pooped from working so hard running into the wind.

Monday and Tuesday morning brought in a little reminder that it may officially be spring, but wintry weather can come back at any time still.  Not a favorite! This was taken on my drive to work Tuesday.
My baby girl had a practise kindergarten day Monday and chose to do it in her brother's class.  They were both excited about it.  Love this.  Definitely a favorite from the week.  So glad that though they may fight they stick together and take care of each other.

What are some of your favorite things this week?

  1. OMG how cute is that picture? I love when my kids get SO excited to see their brothers/sisters in the hall, they are always begging me to let them go give a hug and I think it's adorable.

WELL DONE on the iphone. You will love it. Androids are lame.

  2. The iPhone is the way to go! Mike just got his first smart phone a couple weeks ago and is obsessed with it. It's pretty hilarious, considering I've had one for the past 7 years!

  3. Wait - was all that snow Tuesday and then the run was clear yesterday? Wow, mother nature is crazy this year!

  4. Oh Kindergarten.....so big!!! They are too cute! I just started running with my iPhone this summer. I do like it but I definitely need a band for it or something because I get annoyed carrying it! I am so not a fan of wind! Living on an island I feel like it is always windy here...but your wind sounds brutal! My favorites this week were the 4 days of the park/beach after school and the fact that today is the last day before April vacation! I LOVE warmer weather and having my ladies outside!!! Have a great Friday!!

  6. I'm loving the green starting around here, however it's currently sleeting out. Ugh!

My oldest has Kindergarten screening next month. I can't believe it. I'm not ready...

  7. I love my droid, but then I am not an apple person. Glad that you are loving your new phone. I do have an iphone for work, but thankfully I rarely have to use it.

It has been so windy here too! What is up with that? I almost blew away on my Wednesday run.

  8. I spy Cola! HAHAHA! Love it!

Welcome to the world of IPhones. They can be so addictive!

The weather is crazy here too! Yesterday it was 80, now 55 this afternoon. Talk about weather mood swings :) HA!

  9. It has been really windy here lately too! And a cool wind at that.

Love the pic of you and it looks like Cola is trying to entice you to hurry!

I don't know about what practice kindergarten is... is your daughter visiting so she can get a feel for it? Cute that they are together.

  11. Seriously the wind. I'm sure it's worse there because of the open space but I feel like I spend at least half my runs running into the wind and sometimes all of them. I don't remember it ever being like this. Good choice on the iPhone. I waffled and went with one, and I love it!

  13. I loved the 70-80 degree weather we had this week and winning a Soleus GPS watch! The K picture is so darn cute! Dislikes: the 40 degree weather and pouring rain and also finding out I need my knee scoped a month after getting my hip scoped and also not being able to use the watch yet...

  14. Your kids are DARLING!

Our weather is total crap here. Seriously. Had a great day at work today; my customers doting on me makes things pretty great. It's nice to be appreciated. :)

  16. We've had beautiful spring weather here in NE Iowa too...first flooding, then SNOW. :) Not my favorites, but at least we know it won't last long now. Sun will come!

My favorite thing this week: my little man turning 3...and preparing an Elmo Birthday cake for him. FUN times!

  17. There is nothing better than seeing the kids taking care of each other. It doesn't happen enough but when it does it melts my heart.
I LOVE, LOVE my IPhone!! Enjoy it!!
The pic of the snow is amazing! I always loved spring snow. It was a wet snow and made the best snowmen but then the snow was gone just as fast as it came. Perfect.

  18. Precious picture of the kids! You are going to LOVE your new phone. It really is pretty much a small iPad that you can call people on.

  19. I too battled the wind today and everyday this week in Wyoming, but today was the worst. It just makes running not fun. I cut my 8 miler short at 5.5. I WANT SUMMER!
