She didn't walk once for the first .77 miles and ran happy the whole way. We turned around then and walked a little, hydrated, had a photo session then started back. She had to walk a little more on the way back and agreed that 7 miles was not what she wanted to do yet after all, but someday when she got bigger she assured me.
Once we got close to the shop where my Dad and brother were busy doing some maintenance on the combines she assured me she could go the rest of the way back by herself. My sister's house is just down the hill from the shop, so I waved goodbye to little cowgirl and started off on the rest of my run.love her little running capris and skirt |
I ended up 7.7 miles counting the 1.1 miles I ran with my daughter.
Couple of randoms.
Ragnar Colorado is now a month away! I at this point have reconciled with the fact that I am going to just run my legs at easy pace and not worry about how fast I am going.
My kids found out who their teachers are going to be and are excited about that. My daughter will have for kindergarten that same teacher I had for third grade. My son will have a gal who is also a runner and is awesome. Her son will also be in my son's class. Two weeks until school starts!
So cute! I love running with my kids--my son is into it, but I'm still working on my daughter. She claims she'll do the Turkey Trot if we can walk some.
ReplyDeleteSchool in two weeks for us, too, but we won't find out teachers until tomorrow.
Awe how cute! My oldest expressed interest in running but once she started she decided she didn't like it so much. My five year loves it though!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is too cute! Sounds like a fun day and a good run!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest thing ever :) I remember how exciting (or disappointing) it was to learn who your teacher would be!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is a sweetie! My son wants nothing to do with running! Lots of kids are back to school soon but my son does not go back until September 3rd and he also gets excited to find out who his teacher will be. Looks like you got lucky this year and your kids are happy with their teachers. That is always a good thing! Smart approach to Ragnar Colorado!
ReplyDeleteI love that photo of you and your daughter! It's definitely frame worthy! I hope if I ever have a kid, they would want to run with me :)
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable. I love running with our son, and once it gets a little cooler, I hope he'll want to come out on some of my shorter training runs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view for running, too. I would have a field day with a camera around that area.
How sweet! That's great that you and your daughter got to run together. It sounds like both of your children will have great teachers next year.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Periodically my daughter (11) will want to run with me too, even though she can't go the full distance it's still nice for her to tag along for a mile or so :) Great memories!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until my boys can run with me. How fun! and her little running clothes are adorable!
ReplyDeletePrecious times! Can't wait to run with my daughter one day (that is if she wants to, of course!).
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is too cute!!! I think that she is going to be a terrific runner when she gets older. :-)
