I have been wanting a kettlebell for some time, but rather hate paying more than I think I should for something. Therefore up until today, I did not own one. I ran into Target this afternoon after work for something I just realized I didn't get and decided to see if any were on sale. Lo and behold the 20 pound kettle bells were marked way down.
and I mean way down.. look
Yup, not 20, 30, 40 or even 50% off the regular outrageous price of $49.99, but sixty freaking five percent off. Whoop! Sadly none of the other sizes were on sale or I would have bought one in every size. Briefly considered buying both of the 20 pound ones that were there, but abstained.
I, of course, couldn't wait to try it out. I found the
Killer Kettlebell Workout on
shape.com.
I was a little worried when I saw
Since mine is a 20lbs kettlebell I decided to just sub in my free weights as needed. Luckily I only had to for one move.
I did three rounds and was dripping sweat by the last round and having a hard time holding on to the handle with all the sweat.
My verdict? It took a little bit to get used to holding onto it comfortably for each of the moves, but overall awesome total body workout. I see myself using it quite a bit in the future. My core, legs, and arms were feeling it by the end. Maybe it didn't help that yesterday I did a workout that had 140 pushups in it..
Some days I am a glutton.
NICE! I'm going to have to check out our Target... I got my wimpy 7lb kettelbell on clearance, too (years ago), and have been waiting for a heavier one.
ReplyDeleteYou ARE a glutton. Most definitely.
I really like kettlebells but yes they take a little getting used to! After that you'll be nice and sore! :-)
ReplyDeleteYahoo! Hooray for Target clearance! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to go to target TODAY and see if they have any on clearance here. I'm still a kettlebell virgin and that needs to change :) and man, I thought I did awesome with 100 push-ups in my previous workout. 140 is obviously a little awesome-er.
ReplyDeleteLove love my kettle bell. Good for you! Nice score, and so glad you like it too!
ReplyDeleteYou could have bought one for a gift! And no, I don't mean for me.... although I would love it.
Your workouts are seriously impressive. I feel sore just thinking about doing that!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you're so badass!!!! I love my kettlebell too...and that workout looks awesome! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove finding good workout gear on clearance. I too have avoided buying one do to the price!
ReplyDeleteSomeday I hope to get into this as well! We shall see!
ReplyDeleteI have used the once or twice at the gym but didn't have any real plan for it. As of this week, I am kicking up a notch with my cross training and will have to look at the kettleball again.
ReplyDeleteThat is a kick ass workout!
ReplyDeleteI went directly to my nearest Target and bought my own!
ReplyDeleteI want a kettlebell so bad but like you say: expensive. ugh...and the closest target is like 45 minutes from where I live. But I am checking out that workout because it looks like a killer!

ReplyDeleteSweet deal, and sweet workouts. I haven't bought a kettle bell yet for the same reason that you didn't. I guess I should keep watching for a deal. They look cool, and I think they would be a lot of fun, but I don't see the advantage being as phenomenal as many proponents say.
