I am a little mad at myself for that one. The good news is that I did something smart afterwards and rested Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and did the elliptical Sunday (I'm not perfect) and then took it out for an easy run today.
5 miles at about 9 min/mile pace and it felt pretty darn good. YAY. So since I work tomorrow it will be another rest day tomorrow. In retrospect a cut back week about now (or last week) is really a good idea. I have ran a lot more miles in July than I did in June. I am not keeping track right now I just know.
In other random news I went to a small outdoor concert for Brenn Hill Friday night and had a great time with my husband. Super huge bonus points to anyone who has heard of him.
and number one on my list.
All of those questions crack me up. I think my co workers think I am from another planet so they have stopped asking me random questions. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think they are all pretty funny. lol
ReplyDeleteI think I will just say yes when people ask me if I'm fast from now on!
ReplyDeleteHow far is your marathon - made me gasp!
I also gasped when I read about your quad, thankfully it is settling down, it must have decided to remind you not too much too soon!
Glad your 5 miler felt good! Those questions are great….I've definitely heard most of them :)
ReplyDeleteI liked all the questions too. That's too bad about your quad. I'm glad to read that you did the right thing and took days off afterwards and got the reward of a nice run afterwards! ;)
ReplyDeleteha ha ha!!!! So sorry about your quad. Darn injuries!
ReplyDeletehahaha I love that! People are always shocked that I run in the rain. Yes.....and you know what happens? I get wet. Oh, the horror! Sorry about that annoying quad....but well done on the smart decision!
ReplyDeleteUGh the first one: Are you fast? Always kills me. Tell that quad to behave already!
ReplyDeleteI saw all those yesterday and cracked up. Isn't it too hot to run? Isn't it too cold to run? NO!!!!! Never!!
ReplyDeleteI love that runners world post. Do you think those are stock photos they found? That makes it that much more funny.
ReplyDeleteLast year at the AF marathon we went to the after party on the Greene. Some drunk lady in the bathroom asked me why so many people had "matching necklaces," meaning the medals. After telling her about the marathon, and explaining that's why there was a party at the Greene in the first place, she goes, "Oh. Did you win?" And then she asked how far it was. TRIFECTA!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose comments are so funny! Especially the last one!
ReplyDeleteOH MAH GAH!! The old man shouting, "Do you need a riiiiiide?!" BELLY LAUGH! <3 this:)
ReplyDeleteSorry about the quad giving you some trouble. I'm torn between How far is your marathon? and So did you win? as a favorite.
