1. Clearly we don't have enough to do at work some days. My friend Karla was going around challenging people to arm wrestling contests. These pictures are only posted because I won.
It was a pretty good contest, in the end I had more stamina. All those pushups paid off I guess.
2. My kids begged me to take them to a local gravel pile a couple of nights ago so they could look for cool rocks and play in the sand. Some kids go to the beach, mine go to the gravel pile. It is pretty fun to dig around and look for fun rocks and there are some really great sand piles to play in. The kids both took a bucket of sand home.
3. Wednesday we weren't busy at work so I got the day off and I decided to go for a shorter and faster ish run. I did mile repeats and paused my Garmin in between each.
It pretty much kicked my butt and made me want to vomit. Coming back from injuries kind of suck, this used to be so easy for me and to top it off my right quad feels mad today so I am taking a forced rest day from running. So maybe I shouldn't have done the mile repeats. It just felt so good to run a little faster.
ugh
When is the last time you were in an arm wrestling contest?
Arm wrestling? You guys need something to do lol.
ReplyDeleteI love kids because going to a giant rock pile is fun. Imagine if we were so easy. Hey honey it's date night, wanna go to that cool rock pile? I can see it now.
Sometimes we have family feats of strength contests. I always lose. I mean, I'm up against my football playing brother and my mom who can still walk on her hands. I don't stand a chance.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the local gravel pile for normally?
I don't think I've ever been in an arm wrestling contest. I think, maybe, now with the strength training I've been doing I'd have a chance... against a child :D
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA, this reminded me of my kids!! They totally love doing off the wall kinda things! Especially my boys. They have their own idea of entertainment.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in an arm wrestling contest in who-knows-how-long. I'm fairly sure I would lose. I swim and all BUT I'm a weakling. HAHA!
too funny! I haven't arm wrestled in years!
ReplyDeleteMy 12-yr. old and I do arm wrestling contests and we're fairly evenly matched..for now!
ReplyDeleteComing back from injury does suck. Take it easy and build your base--it will make the speedwork easier, I promise!
ummm I don't think I can remember the last time I was in an arm wrestling contest..that could be because I have no upper body strength..lol
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I arm wrestle all the time (we're silly competitive and joke around like that) - I never win :-P !
ReplyDeleteFrom the color of your hand, you must have had a death grip on your friend.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm ever dying, and you happen to be the nurse on call, and I need an operation, and I'm on the table, unconsciousness ... please don't do that with another nurse on my limp, possibly dying body. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh, gosh. I can't remember the last arm wrestling contest. I did have an awesome thumb wrestling contest with my son the other day, though.
ReplyDeleteI used to arm wrestle my sons. I think they let me win :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally get the frustration with running after an injury. It is irritating that we can lose fitness so quickly, eh?
Y'all crack me up with arm wrestling in the OR! Yay for fun gravel piles. Hope your quad is better after a rest day! :0)
ReplyDeleteNice job on the arm wrestling contest. Doesn't surprise me that you won because you have some killer guns!
ReplyDeleteIf it helps, I used to play in the gravel and dirt pile too when I was about the same age as your kids. :-)
Those pics at your work made me laugh
ReplyDeleteSee the colors on your hand? She was squeezing hard!!!
I am not surprised you won!!
My youngest loves rocks! Everywhere we go he ends up with rocks in his pocket to take home:0 Nice job in the arm wrestling contest!
