I had two rather fabulous runs over the weekend. Saturday I did an even 8 miles and Sunday I did a pretty hilly 7. My right quad didn't give me so much as a niggle. I would call that a pretty big success.
The wild sunflowers on the side of the road are all going gangbusters right now. They are one of my favorite flowers, happy and cheerful.
I took the kids to town yesterday and we finished the school shopping. Well almost, I still need to find some water color paints for my daughter. Apparently they are in high demand this year. We also stopped at the candy store where I say this sign.
I hate spiders, creepy eight legged little freaks. My son had one on him once and he was crying for some help and all I could do was tell him to brush it off. He wasn't impressed. I ended up getting the stick and brushing it off. It was a large garden spider and I sure as hell didn't want it on me!
One more shot from the candy store. The kids both picked out lollipops but I went for a bag of Jelly Belly Beans. Love those little nuggets of fruity sweetness.
From yesterday's run. Love my Altra Torin's but these shoes are a clear case for Lock Laces.
Apparently the combination of school shopping and going to a BBQ in the afternoon wore my kids out. They were both asleep by 6pm last night and I enjoyed a quiet night with my husband.
YAY FOR NO PAIN!
ReplyDeleteI spent the weekend as a rent-a-mom, watching 3 kids so our roof could get fixed. Man, that's exhausting! How do you do it? :)
Woohoo for two great runs!!!
ReplyDeleteI could go for a trip to the candy store right now. Jelly beans sound awesome!
So glad you are continuing pain free! And 6 p.m.? I need that to happen with my kids!
ReplyDeleteI'm sooooooo happy you had 2 awesome pain free runs! Cola dog looks so happy in that photo :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad your quad is feeling better:) Wow 6pm is early! They must have been wiped:) Yay for alone time with the hubs!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you were able to run twice with no pain!!! I stopped into a penny candy store to get something else and walked out with some caramels...couldn't resist!!
ReplyDeleteI also hate spiders and my house is a MAGNET for them. I just recently have had to start taking care of them myself. And it is horrifying.
ReplyDeleteYay for no pain!!
Yay for niggle-free runs :) !!
ReplyDeleteSweet! Glad the quad is [hopefully] doing better. You know, when I have aches and pains, I keep my running to a minimum. I'm a pansy like that. But I love that you bust out a couple 7+ milers. Love it. And I love the compression socks!
ReplyDeleteif i decide to go forward with purchasing another pair of my shoes, i'm definitely going to get lock laces- so annoying how often the come untied. Glad you are back to running!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wearing some Skora shoes for running and CrossFit and ditto on the lock laces-- they came undone three times during a 14 min WOD today!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks! And I love sunflowers, too. I had small ones in my wedding bouquet. Yay for pain-free running!
ReplyDeleteLovely sunflowers! My husband and I drove through Montana yesterday enroute to visting my family in Rapid City. We stopped at a rest area outside of Billings and I got nearly the same photo. I should've waved to you from I-90! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the two fantastic runs! It sounds like your patience has really paid off. Very, very, very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteI hate spiders too. Don't even get me started on that subject because we have had quite a problem with hobos in our house recently. We have hobo traps everywhere in our basement and each one has at least 2 spiders. EEEEEEK!
6pm??? Sounds heavenly! It is midnight and my children still haven't gone to sleep. Ugh!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I walked into a room one time to discover my 6 month old daughter wearing a huge grin with spider legs peeking out from her lips. I ran from the room screaming-my husband thought... well ... something horrible and liked to have freaked out!
I refused to nurse her for hours after that!
2 days in a row with hills - that's great!
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflowers - it must be awesome to run alongside them when they're in bloom!
What a great weekend! I want to go to that candy store!
ReplyDeleteI also hate spiders and my house is a MAGNET for them. I just recently have had to start taking care of them myself. And it is horrifying. Antique Design Ear Rings , handmade head piece , handmade jewelry box , Slik Stuff Scarf
