I had a dream last night I was late to track practice. I was getting in my car when I realized I hadn't even packed my running clothes or shoes! Aack! I had to run down to my bedroom (at my parents house no less) and then I couldn't find my shorts. I think my dream was picking up on my daughter's birthday being in one week and I haven't done anything to prepare for it. So that will be one of my projects today!
In other news I was searching for something on Google, but got distracted when this came up.
So I thought I would see if Bing was so biased.
at least they also threw in a "more productive".
Seriously do other people search those things to make the search engines suggest them? Yahoo was no kinder.
We might be smarter to them, but also annoying and narcissistic. I guess that is why some of us blog isn't it? We might be weird, crazy, different, but I tend to think we are also happier, healthier and not all that worried about what the rest of those crazy people who don't run think.
We know the secret to being happy is getting new running shoes and finding that sweet spot during a run. Happy is a new PR or just a run after being injured, a new place to run, or friends to run with. Happy is seeing all four seasons up close and personal. If that makes us crazy I'll take it.
What's your favorite runner stereotype?
I like the stereotype that runners are hardy people!

I think runners have a very solid sense of fellowship with each other and to those who feel they are 'outsiders' that can be a source for envy.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious!!! My fav is that we are all unbalanced...that all we think about it running!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA.
ReplyDeleteI think runners are AWESOME.
That is so funny... I sometimes dream that I cannnot remember the combination to my gym locker and so can't get dressed to go to my next class. It seems to come when I have a lot on my plate too so I bet you are right on with your dream analysis!
ReplyDeleteThose search results are hilarious! Usually it creeps me out when I start typing something in google and it correctly guesses what I was going to write :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha great post! I love this. My favorite stereotype is that Runners are CRAZY--because we are! And that's what I love about us. :)
ReplyDeleteRunners are healthy......except when people see me eating glazed doughnuts.
ReplyDeleteI think most people just think we are plain crazy. I don't understand the "jerk" thing since runners are the best people around!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love this! interesting that those are the options that came up! I think the biggest stereotype I've heard is that runners are always showing off. Like "oh, look at me running in 12 degree weather" lol.

I love this...awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'll admit, I do know some pretty weird runners, but i mean, I also know some pretty weird people just in general.
ReplyDeletethere are a LOT of stereotypes out there- nashville is a big small community so i love the stereotype that all runners know eachother (although not true for me since I haven't done as many local races as I'd like)
It's so crazy to me that all of these search engines brought up the same stereotypes! Too funny....and I don't think anything negative about runners! We are awesome people! :D
ReplyDeleteHahahaha. That is hilarious!! I mean, I know a lot of people who just don't like running, but jeez don't take it out on those of us that do! Too funny. :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I love the Google suggestions, but those take the prize.
ReplyDeleteI entered "non-runners are" and the only thing it predicted was "non-runners are non-runners"! Runners are different then others and that is something to rejoice about.
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME!!! love it!!!
