1. (yes this deserves all caps) MY LITTLE SISTER IS HERE! This means lots of cousin time for the kids, in fact I am keeping the kids out of school today so they can play with their cousins. That also means we had a sleepover last night and my sister and I get to go for a run together today. Jess, my mom and I discussed it yesterday while she was at the Denver airport.
so I have a lot of running clothes. but they make me happy so it's justified.
2. I did a short run yesterday and was bummed when I pulled on my second favorite pair of running tights and the one good zipper blew out. I guess I need some new tights. This was a really hard picture to get by the way, can you tell I am bending over?
It made me thankful for tall compression socks that keep my covered! The run was freezing. It was 27 degrees out but the wind seemed to go right through me. BRR!
I shared this on Instagram already, but I really love this picture. I was fussing with my phone when Cola came over and stepped on my shoe. Then he was courteous enough to keep his little paw there while I snapped a picture of it.
Obviously not yesterday since I have on different socks and shoes and the sun was shining.
3. This is one of my favorite things to eat lately. Shredded Brussels sprouts, cucumbers, and cauliflower with olive oil, white balsamic vinegar and Italian seasoning. Sometimes I add sunflower seeds and tomatoes too. So good I could eat it by the bucketful!
What's your favorite way to eat Brussels sprouts? Up until about 2 years ago I would say I didn't like them but now I also like them roasted with olive oil and sea salt, and steamed with butter, lemon juice and dill.
I wish my sister was visiting!
ReplyDeleteThat picture of you and Cola is too freaking cute. I don't think Bungee will get a run outside for a few days. It's supposed to basically be 0 for the rest of the week and then more snow and I don't want to slip and fall and die.
I can't say that I like brussel sprouts, Mike loves them, though.
oooh youve intrigued me with the shredded B.S.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to eat brussel sprouts is not at all. LOL - HATE them!
ReplyDeleteI love the paw picture - so cool!
And the one with your face peeping through as you are bending over is a crack up! Isn't it funny that we all have a TON of workout clothes, but we hang on to some things we've had forever that really probably should go. I do the same. I had a jacket I loved that the zipper died on and I kept it forever. I finally had to tell myself it was useless without a zipper and I have 40 more to replace it.
Favorite way to eat brussel sprouts hands down: http://www.myfitfamily.com/2013/08/20/tasty-tuesday-lemon-garlic-brussel-sprouts/
ReplyDeleteI definitely have to try that salad. I am embarrassed to say, I never had a Brussels sprout until 2 years ago, now, I am trying to make up for lost time. I LOVE them!!!
ReplyDeleteI love when I visit my sister or she visits me!!! It is so fun to have all the cousins together...chaos but fun!!! Love the dog pic!
ReplyDeleteYay for sister visits! I ate my very 1st brussel sprout a few months ago at a restaurant. Pretty good. I would probably roast them in the oven with EVOO salt and pepper and get a nice brown color on them. Yummm:)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a brussles sprout fan yet. I'll have to try your salad I guess! Love the shot of your running tights, made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteHaha! This made me laugh because somehow the ratio of gym/running clothes to normal clothes in my closet has grown significantly. What can I say? I love running clothes! :D Have fun with your sister!

Yuck, brussels sprouts.
ReplyDeleteLove the safety pin reverse selfie photo. You are a very talented blogger.
Brussels sprouts are great, if other people make them, you know, since I don't cook.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get out and run a bit... back to treadmill :( - weather is supposed to be in the 50's this weekend, SO MAYBE.
Yay for a visit with your sister!!
I think Cola is hinting that he wants a pair of red Altra's too!
ReplyDeleteI love Brussel sprouts stir fried with some pancetta and garlic - yummy!
Have a great time with your sister and co!
my mom and i were drooling over your brussel sprouts when you posted them on instagram!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE your paw photo with cola... that is a framer!
That paw picture is the best! I'm jealous about your running partner.
ReplyDeleteI have never eaten a b s that wasn't biter. I keep looking at them in the stores though....
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to eat brussel sprouts is to not eat them! Great pic!
ReplyDeletethat salad looks heavenly! I used to hate Brussels sprouts, but now I love them roasted with olive oil, salt & pepper, or sautéed in olive oil and garlic with a little bit of bacon and parmesan cheese.Yum, yum.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to eat brussels sprouts is roasted and then mixed with bacon, walnuts, and bleu cheese. LOVE. That salad sounds like something I'd like if it weren't so cold right now. ;o)
ReplyDeleteHooray for sister time!
ReplyDeleteCute puppy paw print pic!! :)
Christy, not sure if you get notification if I reply to your comment in my blog but this is the spiralizer I got and I LOVE IT! Super easy to use!

I know it's been a good week when I have more running/workout clothes in the laundry basket than regular clothes.
ReplyDeleteI really like Brussels sprouts, even plain.
Yeah, I still don't do brussel sprouts. Maybe someday I'll eat sprouts in Brussels, but that'll be as close as I get. Keeping kids out of school for cousins? We're guilty, too! After living a few houses away for about five years, my brother in law and his two girls moved to Maine almost a year ago. They've been back twice during the school year and both times we kept the kids out from school :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you need another pair of favorite workout pants!
