I have had another medal holder sitting on my dresser for months now, but I couldn't decide where to put it. I decided today I would figure it out. I also decided I would do something about the mess of bibs I have pinned up on a corkboard above all my medals.
My current medal holder is getting very crowded and since I have plans this year to add to it, of course, I really needed to hang up the new one!I had some ring binders, so I took down all the bibs, took all the safety pins off them, organized them by race distance and strung them on. I was left with quite a pile of pins and most of the bibs already had most of the pins off of them.
For the life of me I couldn't get this picture to rotate correctly, but you get the idea. What I am left with is a much neater looking stack of bibs.
I hung up the new medal holder were the cork board was and put the bibs on the medal holder.
Now I have more room, on both medal holders for more! I don't know if I am in love with the medal holders overlapping like this, but for now it will have to do.
I left the Run to the Pub bib on top since that is my next race.
A little motivation for me every time I look at it for sure!
I got a new medal holder for Christmas. The medals slide onto a rod. It came with additional rods. So when the first one fills, you hang a new rod from the first one, fill it up and so on...a layered look. I haven't figured out where to put it yet. But I thought that was a great idea. I like what you did with your bibs. Mine are in a box!
ReplyDeleteJust wrote a reply, just lost it, haha. But I think that we have the same type of holder? Did you get yours from Gone for A Run? My husband got me one this Christmas (http://suzlyfe.com/chicago-christmas-runner-gifts-alexs-friday-favorites-fashion/ if you want to see it). We need to hang it up, but we are going to above my running shoes, sort of in the front "hall" of our apartment. I think I might make a collage project out of my bibs--i saw a cool way to do it over block letters *(like "run").
DeleteYes, same holder but mine says "Believe". You can also continue to buy extension bars. I guess at some point it would be too long? A collage would be a very neat idea for bibs.
DeleteLove your medal holder! And look at all of them! Holy cow! Atta girl!

I like that layered look! I really need to get another one too. Mine is BEYOND capacity! I've got my bibs in an 8 x 10 photo album with 5K, 10K, 13.1, and 26.2 stickers all over it. :)
ReplyDeleteI like it! I'm not someone who saves my medals and I typically chuck them...but I wish I was that person! The memories from race medals are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good way to show off all the accomplishments!!
ReplyDeleteNice! I did the same thing over the Christmas holiday :)

ReplyDeleteLooks great! I've been wanting to hang my metals & do something with my bibs...but I don't have nearly as many so I will just let them hang on my treadmill for a while still ;)
