Three Things Thursday: Bad at plans, good at getting done

Hello Thursday, the day before Friday and the day after Hump Day.  I haven't done a three things Thursday in a long time so it seemed like a good way to blog today.

1.  Running seems to be going pretty good.  I felt a bit of a niggle in my foot yesterday and considered not running, but oddly the niggle felt better after the run so I am glad I did run.  I have started into half marathon training. I had hill repeats on the plan yesterday.  My legs were feeling a little tired from P90X3, but once the repeats were over I ran two miles at just slightly slower than goal half pace.  I called it tempo pace, but I can't remember if that was right or not.  Whatever.

2.  I don't really have a "plan" for the half marathon.  I do, but it is pretty informal at this point.  As in it is all in my head.  Basically it means I do a long run, intervals, hill repeats or a tempo (or both) and some sort of easy run every week. This week my long run was 10 miles so next week it will be 11, then 12 and then a cut back week.

Winter is so beautiful, but I am starting to get ready for some green!
3. I have completed one full week of P90X3 and am into my second week.  Apparently I am just bad at following plans as I should have started the second week Tuesday, but I didn't until Wednesday.  This happened not because I missed a day, but because I did a different workout Sunday than I was supposed to and then did Sunday's workout on Monday. Monday's workout on Tuesday.  There are several plans to follow and I am loosely following the Lean and the Classic plans.  Like I said I am bad at following a plan, but I am pretty good about getting things done!

  2. Are you a Gemini? You remind me of one of my Gemini friends. She always has three different plans going but somehow still seems to get things done! I am more of a one plan person myself. However, I think that in the end she gets more done than I do!

  3. All that snow...! Beautiful! (Coming from a South African who's only seen snow once or twice in her life and never has to run in it...!) :)

  7. I've become a fan of the "in your head" training plan recently--Building mileage in the long runs, but during the week I've been mixing it up and listening to my body. It's so liberating! I'm going to enjoy a little more of this training flexibility the next couple months before it's back to a structured schedule to get ready for triathlon season.
