I get knocked down.. I get up again

Well it hasn't been my best running week ever.. in fact yesterday was the first time I have run since Sunday. Back issues kept me sidelined.  Ugh.  I did get in an easy 4.25 miles yesterday after work.  I had hoped for more, but the perfect calm day ended very fast.  It went from calm to blustery in a very short amount of time and I decided I didn't want to fight the wind with a touchy back.

The approaching storm did make for pretty pictures though.

Cola and I took a pre run picture.  I found some arm sleeves to match my cami so I was pretty excited to take them out for a run.

Before and afters... the bottom is before the chiropractor and the top is after.  I am going to get a script and look into some physical therapy.. seems to be an ongoing issue.

My right side is a little messed up or something.  My gluteus medius is so tight! I don't know it that is where it all stems from and is pulling everything else out with it, or if it is something else.

Still planning to run my half marathon in 21 days but may have to reconsider my goals a little.

  1. Ugh. The chiropractor seemed to help a bit. I've never used one I'm a bit scared of them. PT, been there and it always helps! Good luck!

  2. I'm right there with you...this PF is going to be the death of me! I'm so glad that Big Sur isn't a goal race for me.

  3. Your photos really show the reality of good body work! I have to stay on top of strengthening and stretching routines or my hips get out of whack too. Also, it should be said that my legs are never really "perfectly aligned", but some times are better than others! That top photo is BEAUTIFUL.. ♥

  4. Hopefully, 3 weeks will be plenty of time for things to start looking up!

  5. Hope you feel better soon. I seem to be working through some ongoing injury issues as well, so I feel your pain.

  7. I'm in PT for my hips (my left hip also pulls on my back too) and it's one of the best decisions I ever made! If feels like they are working me to death, but I needed it.

  8. Glad to hear you'll still be running it! The body is crazy, one thing out of wack, and it throws EVERYTHING off. Keep it feeling better :)
