Monday: 4.3 muddy miserable miles in which I had NO energy so I called it a run early. Half an hour of easy yoga
Tuesday: 10 miles. Finally a long run, still felt a little short of energy but better than Monday.
Wednesday: Easy run.. wasn't going to run, but the beautiful weather demanded that I did. Also did the Dirty 30 workout from 21 Day Extreme
Thursday: Rest day.
Friday: Zuzka Light 6 Pack Abs 24 minute HIIT workout.. modified for no burpees or really fast skaters... one of those two moves or maybe both hates my back. Or my back hates them, either way, I'm substituting other moves.
Saturday: 6 mile run. Started with some hill work and for the last two and a half miles or so did fartleks. Running fast felt good! Also did 21 Day Fix Extreme Upper Body workout
Running: 33.2 miles
Strength workouts: 2
Yoga 3
This week was so much warmer and the snow is mostly melted and we have so much water around!
I also totally missed recapping the week before.. so very briefly..
Feb 5-11
Running 11.7 miles.. yep that's it. Skipped running on Monday and Wednesday because of a mad back. I had done burpees and skaters the week before.
Strength: 5
Yoga: 2
Elliptical: 60 minutes (I have seem some people count elliptical "miles" but my elliptical doesn't really measure miles and it is not miles to me) (no offense to anyone who does, I just in my head cannot do it. It does not bring the same satisfaction at all as running.)

Do you count elliptical miles?
What was the highlight of your week? I got to run in tanks a couple times!! WIN!
I don't elliptical--so no! I didn't run in tanks because I went early before it really warmed up. But my highlight of the week was the weather. It was amazing!
ReplyDeleteI do a lot of elliptical as well but don't count the miles only go by time. I could count the miles though to compare. Looks like you had a great week!
ReplyDeleteI don't do burpees either. My stomach doesn't like them and I tend to get nauseous.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done the elliptical in years, I'd count them. I count everything! Tanks? Not quite yet. Although a few people were out in them with our 45 degree weather. I'm a shorts till it gets to be 20F or really horribly windy and 30.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your workouts! I find that it is so much easier to get your workouts in when it is warmer out! This was a great weekend with temps in the 70s where I live.
ReplyDeleteGood job on your workouts, and good for you for cutting out those exercises that you suspect are doing more harm than good. I cut out an exercise just this morning after feeling a weird sensation in my leg after completing the exercise. I don't think I'll be doing it again...
ReplyDeleteThe weather here in Virginia has been pretty amazing, and this week is supposed to be even better!
I dont use an elliptical very often but i dont think I would count those miles either. Just like I dont count bike miles...to me its just not the same (although elliptical miles are probably closer to running miles). Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the nice weather!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great week of running Christy! I"m with you on the elliptical miles ...I do the elliptical a couple of times per month but do not count them in my weekly mileage...it's just cross training to me. But then again, I can't count Spin class miles as cycling miles either.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see it's warming up for you. We skipped winter. I bet it felt great to run in tanks! I love those "mermaid" capris. I agree the elliptical is cross training. I'd count the time you spent on it. I do count bike miles, but totally separate from running miles -- they are two different animals. Thanks for linking, Christy!
ReplyDeleteHa I've never put my tanks up from last year! It's a good thing too. Although I admit I keep a few out for my gym sessions but I've run quite a bit in tanks through out this winter. All the snow is beautiful but yes it does make for a nasty wet mess when it melts!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christy for joining us!
